About Us

Stefan Nathanson is the founding member of Nathanson Law Group LLC and serves as Of Counsel to the law firms Ligris and Associates and Barr and Cole. Stefan focuses his practice on commercial and residential real estate matters, including buyer and seller representation in the sale and/or acquisition of real estate, condominium conversions, and lender financing transactions. 

After graduating from Northeastern University with a bachelor’s degree in political science and public administration, Stefan obtained his J.D. from Vermont Law School in 1991. Prior to the formation of Nathanson Law Group LLC, Stefan served as Senior Counsel to Ligris and Associates for nine years, and served as Of Counsel to Barr and Cole for 15 years.

Representing both individuals and companies throughout Massachusetts, Stefan places a high premium on taking the time to understand the unique goals of each client, big or small, to best assist them in their endeavors.  With more than 30 years of experience, Stefan has the background and experience to provide his clients with succinct and timely analysis of legal issues, helping them to calmly navigate their transactions. Stefan is also an approved closing attorney for some of the country’s largest mortgage lenders and some of Massachusetts’ largest mortgage brokers and banks.

Stefan often advises banks, lenders and real estate brokers regarding regulatory compliance with State and Federal laws and regulations involving residential transactions and lending. This includes the Truth in Lending and RESPA Integrated Discourse Rule (commonly known as TRID or “Know Before You Owe”), the American Land Title Association’s Best Practices, and other relevant industry challenges and changes. Most recently, Stefan has been advising real estate professionals regarding the navigation of real estate transactions in Massachusetts during the Covid-19 pandemic. Stefan also presently serves on the Ethics Committee for the Massachusetts Real Estate Bar Association (REBA).

Stefan is active in several charitable and community organizations and is the Founder and President of the Room to Dream Foundation, a Boston based charity that creates healing environments in the homes of children with chronic illnesses. For his work with the Room to Dream Foundation, he was awarded the Heroes Among Us Award by the Boston Celtics. He has previously served on the Boards of the Matty Eappen Foundation, the Real Estate Bar Association for Massachusetts, and the Newton Human Rights Commission.

Mr. Nathanson is an occasional Guest Lecturer for Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education in Boston, Massachusetts, and is the co-author of "Practice Tips for the Residential Real Estate Paralegal", MCLE Publications, 2005. He is also an occasional guest lecturer for the Real Estate Bar Association for Massachusetts, Boston College Law School, and a number of local real estate brokerage offices.

Kristin Regan-Nuzzo is a 1996 graduate from Northeastern University where she was co-captain of the Women’s Gymnastics Team. She is a Senior Paralegal with nearly 20 years’ experience in residential and commercial real estate and has a thorough understanding of TRID Guidelines and expectations. She has the ability to thrive under sensitive timelines and provides dynamic real estate services to buyers, sellers, Realtors and lenders throughout Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Southern Maine.

Originally from Melrose, Massachusetts, Kristin resides in Georgetown, Massachusetts with her husband, Steve, her two sons, Ryan and Drew, and two stepsons Spencer and Steven. When she isn’t working, you can find her in a cold hockey rink or at the soccer field.
